UTC Warrington Year 12 and 13 Curriculum Overview

After two years, students will be able to progress to study the Year 12 curriculum, with entry determined by the academic qualifications gained in Year 11. There are a number of available progression pathways, consisting of programmes designed with the strengths and skills of individual students in mind.

Students in Year 12 can opt to follow the Technical Pathway, the Academic Pathway or a hybrid option of both. Within the Technical Pathway students can select either one AQA Tech A Level Engineering option or one BTEC Engineering option, which accompanied by the Core Maths qualification and the Extended Project qualification becomes a Technical Baccalaureate, equivalent to 3 A Levels. Students who opt to follow the Academic Pathway can study up to four A Level options. Alternatively, students can opt to follow a Hybrid Option which would include one AQA Tech A Level or BTEC option and one or two A Level options.

Every student will have the opportunity to attend an individual guidance session with our Vice Principal to plan a curriculum tailored to their individual interest and strengths.

Please see the progression pathways below.

All qualifications are reviewed each year and subject to change to ensure suitability.
